Principal, Ms Richardson says “Amanda is an extraordinary teacher and we consider ourselves very lucky to have her on our team.  Her ‘can do’ attitude and caring nature towards her students are just some of the many reasons why she is so valued here”. The prestigious award was presented by the SA Minister for Education, John Gardner and Department for Education Chief Executive, Rick Persse at the Adelaide Convention Centre, October 12.

A certified Highly Accomplished Teacher (HAT) Amanda strives to help all students develop their maths skills and create an inclusive and open-minded environment in her classroom.  Additionally, four days a week she coordinates lunchtime tutoring and activities in order to support her students in their development and learning.  An ardent supporter of professional development, Amanda has also helped to build the capacity of maths teachers at the college by mentoring at least 19 of her colleagues.
