All Girls High School in South Australia

Scientific research has proven that an all-female working environment – without the distraction of boys – is a more successful and productive environment.

In an all-girls environment, female students are given more opportunities to assume leadership roles which are very important for personal development. Also, the school curriculum is altered which enables teachers the ability to explore the female experience with students. This means discussing the challenges that face women all over the world and exploring what it is to be a woman in the modern world.

The importance of these unique advantages offered by an all-girls high school and learning environment cannot be understated.

Roma Mitchell Secondary College – Girls’ Education Campus

RMSC offers the Girls’ Campus to Year 7 to 12 students.

This girls only school campus is designed with our female students in mind.

The academic curriculum is advanced; Years 8-10 follow the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) which prepares girls of this age group for a successful personal and professional life. This program offers the standard academic framework used in schools around Australia and the rest of the world while also providing extracurricular activities to allow students the ability to develop their own sense of identity.

We offer many other special programs as well, including:

  • Enrichment program
  • Specialist Sports programs
  • Specialist Maths
  • STEM focus

Female students enrolled in the RMSC Girls’ Education School Campus in Adelaide will graduate as both a knowledgeable academic student and a well-rounded person and individual.

Acceptance Requirements

Naturally, spots in this program are limited – this means all prospective students are required to apply for acceptance into the Girls’ Education Campus.

The Adelaide girls’ high school campus can accommodate up to 400 students at any given time.

To determine acceptance, applicants are required to attend an interview.

The interview will discuss:

  • The current academic standing and grades of the student.
  • Your commitment to education and enrolling in the Girls’ Education Campus.
  • Your subject choices, interests, and career goals.

The first part of the application process is done online – you can submit this at any time at the following address: https://rmsc.sa.edu.au/our-campuses/girls-education-campus/application-for-girls-only-education/

You will need general information including name, phone, DOB, address, visa, etc.

Also, there is a questionnaire section designed to gauge who you (or your child) are as a person and student.

Questions include:

  • Describe why you want to become a student in an all girls environment?
  • What are your study and career plans?
  • What subjects do you prefer and why?

The short answer question must be submitted by the student, not the parent.

Please come prepared and recognize that there are five questions in total, which can take some time to answer fully and completely.
