Our School
We warmly welcome all students and their families to Roma Mitchell Secondary College.
The school has been designed with a ‘schools within a school’ concept.
As a large school we are able to provide a very broad curriculum as well as providing smaller learning communities, which are safe and supportive, as middle and senior schools within each campus.
Our teaching team has developed a rigorous curriculum that raises the academic expectations of our students. It has a focus on improving literacy and numeracy and is designed to support students aspiring to university, TAFE and other community pathways.
Our Girls’ Education Campus – which is one of only two ‘girls-only’ public schools in South Australia – focuses on promoting leadership, academic excellence and equity within an all girls’ learning environment.
We deliver a number of specialist programs including our Specialist Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Roma Mitchell Sports Academy in AFLW, Cricket, Soccer and Basketball; a gifted and talented program; international programs and vocational education and training (VET) programs.
Since the school opened we have consistently seen improvements in our students’ levels of engagement and in academic results across all year levels.
We’re thrilled to share the exceptional achievements of our Year 12 Class of 2023 at Roma Mitchell Secondary College. A resounding success, all 225 students have completed their SACE, achieving a 100% success rate—an outstanding testament to their dedication.
Acknowledging excellence, two students earned Merits, showcasing outstanding academic accomplishments. In the ATAR results, an impressive 66 students scored over 70 before adjustment factors, underscoring the high caliber of our students and their commitment to academic excellence.
Additionally, congratulations to 45 students who completed VET qualifications, highlighting the diverse range of skills within our graduating class.
This remarkable success is a testament to the collective efforts of our students, dedicated educators, and supportive community at Roma Mitchell Secondary College.
We are committed to seeing our school continue to grow and develop new and innovative ways to utilise our contemporary facilities and technologies to ensure our students are always engaged in current 21st century learning.
