Starting High School in 2027 – Year 7 Enrolment Information

We’re excited to support your child’s transition to high school at Roma Mitchell Secondary College. To take part in the Year 6 to Year 7 transition process for 2027, families need to meet one of the following criteria:

• Live within the Roma Mitchell Secondary College school zone (view map here)
• Have received and accepted a place in one of our Special Entry Programs
• Identify as Aboriginal and be applying through the Enter for Success Program
• Be currently under the care of the Minister

How to Apply

If your child is currently in Year 6 at a public primary school in 2026, you don’t need to worry — your school will provide all the information you need.

Families will receive a unique link to complete an online Registration of Interest form. This will be sent by your child’s primary school via email or letter at the beginning of Term 2, 2026.

If your child attends a non-government (private) school and you live in our school zone, you can request application information by emailing:
education.startingsecondaryschool@sa.gov.au 

When Will You Hear Back?

Families will be notified of enrolment outcomes for Year 7 in 2027 around mid-August 2026.

Proof of Address

If you are applying based on living in our school zone, you will need to provide documents to confirm your address before enrolment can be finalised.

If you own your home:

• Contract of sale or a recent council rates notice
• A recent gas or electricity bill

If you rent your home:

• A current rental agreement and bond receipt lodged with Consumer and Business Services
• The agreement should cover at least the first 12 months your child will attend the school
• A recent gas or electricity bill

Missed the Deadline or Recently Moved?

If you move into the Roma Mitchell Secondary College zone after Term 2, or miss the state-wide application process, you can still submit a Registration of Interest form HERE.
