Roma Mitchell Secondary College is proud to introduce the Introduction to Pathway to Policing program for Year 11 students undertaking SACE Stage 1. This innovative program has been developed in partnership with South Australia Police (SAPOL) and is one of only two secondary schools in South Australia selected to deliver this pathway.
The Introduction to Pathway to Policing program is designed for students who are considering a future career in policing or related fields and want their senior secondary studies to develop real-world, career-relevant skills.
Program Overview
The Introduction to Pathway to Policing program consists of two SACE Stage 1 subjects, delivered across the year, with one subject undertaken each semester. Together, these subjects contribute 20 SACE Stage 1 credits toward SACE completion.
The program provides students with foundational knowledge of policing while developing an understanding of the values, expectations, and responsibilities associated with police and community safety roles.

- Self-management and reflective skills
Workplace Practices (Semester 2)
This subject focuses on the knowledge and skills required in workplace and service-based roles. Students develop an understanding of:

- Health, safety, and wellbeing
- Expectations of disciplined and community-focused workplaces
A Pathway into SAPOL
This stand-alone Stage 1 program supports students interested in pathways into South Australia Police, including roles such as:
